ONLINE TUTOR COLLECTIVE

I am a member of the Online Tutor Collective. We are a group of high-calibre tutors who are all highly qualified A-level teachers with many years of subject teaching and online tutoring expertise. Whilst we each have our own independent tutoring businesses, we agree to a set of common quality standards:

OnlineTutorCollective_Logo-Col.jpg
  • We all have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • We are all members of The Tutors’ Association, the voluntary, not-for-profit professional body that represents the tutoring sector.

  • We are all committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

  • We all have an enhanced DBS check, which is updated annually.

  • We undergo safeguarding training.

  • We offer an initial student and parent/carer meeting, free of charge and without obligation.

  • We produce a student plan to focus on the knowledge, skills and exam techniques required to help the student achieve their desired objective.

  • We provide short progress reports to students and parents.

  • We offer to record online sessions, subject to client consent, and to retain the recording for a minimum period of time for the student to access, subject to the individual tutor’s policies.

  • We request a minimum number of lessons, usually four hours of tutoring, subject to individual tutor practice. (Note that after the first session, I require a half-termly commitment, which is usually between five and eight lessons.)

  • We request 24 hours’ notice of cancellation, subject to the individual tutor’s practices, terms and conditions. (Note that my cancellation policy is such that lessons can be cancelled until right before the lesson is due to start but all lessons cancelled by the client, no matter how far in advance the cancellation takes place, are rescheduled rather than refunded.)

Please note that this tutor group, the Online Tutor Collective, has no direct involvement in, or responsibility for, tuition services of individual tutors. All arrangements are between the individual tutor and the client.
